Punjab leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been engaged in a war of words with the Punjab’s Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, is likely to be appointed the chief of the Congress’ says-Harish Rawat. The ongoing feud in the Punjab Congress is now over.
There is an internal feud between Capt. Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu in the Punjab Congress. The party high command has come up with a new formula.
According to sources, Harish Rawat revelead that the party high command decided to give the position of “The Congress President” to the Navjot sihdu.
Harish Rawat said that Navjot Sidhu would be made the president of the Punjab Congress and two acting presidents are, one from the Hindu community and the other from the Dalit community. He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh would remain the Chief Minister.
Asked about Navjot Singh Sidhu’s joining the Aam Aadmi Party, Harish Rawat said that Navjot Sidhu understood that the Congress is that party, in which he could work for the politics of Punjab and for his country.
The top leadership wants everything to be fine before announcing a “peace formula” to end the crisis in the Punjab Congress. Due to dissatisfaction in the state Congress for the last two months, Congress acting president Sonia Gandhi had set up a three-member Mallikarjun Kharge panel to hear the grievances of Punjab leaders.
And now Sidhu has finally got a key position in the Congress but, It remains to be seen, when it will be officially announced.
