TORONTO, ON- The Ontario vaccine certificate programme is now live, and there are a few things you should know about how it works.
Starting Wednesday, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to access non-essential businesses in Ontario.
Those who are eligible for a vaccine certificate must have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine that has been approved.
The following are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions concerning the programme.
What is the procedure for obtaining a vaccination certificate?
The province has divided the rollout of vaccine passports into two sections.
Fully vaccinated residents must first go to the provincial website to retrieve their vaccination receipts, which will begin on Sept. 22.
Users are advised to print or save their receipts as PDF files to their mobile devices, which can then be used as proof of vaccination.
Establishments will physically verify your vaccine certificate with accompanying government-issued physical identity prior to admittance into non-essential settings.
This procedure will remain in effect until Oct. 22, when the province’s QR code and verification app will be implemented.
Users will have to request their certificates through the province’s upcoming digital portal or service desk at that time.
Where do you require vaccination proof?

- Unvaccinated people will not be denied access to vital medical care, grocery store food, basic medical supplies, or other necessities, according to the authorities.

Proof of a negative COVID-19 test or a recent infection, according to the province, will not suffice to replace immunisation certificates.
Is it possible to seek a medical exemption if I am unable to receive the vaccine?
There are two legal medical exemptions to getting the vaccine, according to the Ontario government.
