Amritsar, September 23: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur alleged that the Government of India is adopting an unserious attitude on various Sikh issues and appropriate action was not being taken on the letters and resolutions sent by the SGPC to the government from time to time.
SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur was speaking to the media after the SGPC’s executive committee (EC) meeting on Thursday.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The Government of India has been written several times to bring about 30 locally-managed historical gurdwaras under the direct control of the SGPC as per the Sikh Gurdwaras Act. Sadly, but it is saddening that the government is not responding. The Indian government is not serious about Sikh issues.”
SGPC President said that SGPC’s executive committee has decided to meet the Home Minister of India after serious consideration on the matter and a delegation of SGPC will visit Delhi soon.
“It was due to this unserious attitude of the Government of India that even the general elections of the SGPC are not being held on time”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Meanwhile, she also demanded severe punishment for the culprit of the incident at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “SGPC has been demanding to exposure of the anti-Sikh forces behind the incident from day one and today the EC has decided that if the government does not take appropriate action within a week, then SGPC will give the next program. It is imperative for the peace of Punjab to bring fore the real culprits behind the incident and the SGPC would take this matter at every level. The government should take stern action against the culprits instead of delaying the matter.”
Bibi Jagir Kaur also expressed serious concern over the disrespect to the hair (beard) of Sikhs and their identity, who went to Delhi in support of the farmers’ agitation and the issue “A video that has come to light with regards to disrespect to the hair of Sikhs has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs. I appeal to the farmers’ leaders to issue statements to clarify stand for such people who were undermining the farmers’ struggle due to such heinous acts. Any insult to the Sikh identity could not be tolerated. Those who are guilty of this should be punished”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
SGPC President said that a sub-committee was formed to look into the evidence of the military attack on Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and Sri Akal Takht Sahib in June 1984 and the recommendations of this committee will be acted upon.
“The pain of this Sikh genocide is still present in the hearts of Sikhs and the SGPC will work to save its evidence and marks. Also, the historic well of the sixth Guru in the basement of Sri Akal Takht Sahib will soon be opened for the Sangat so that it can have its glimpse. The sub-committee has given a detailed report on these matters, which has been approved by the executive committee for implementation”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
On the occasion, SGPC President congratulated the officers and staff of Sri Guru Ramdas Charitable Hospital, Sri Amritsar on the hospital’s accreditation by NABH and said that it would enhance the facilities available to the needy.
She also expressed satisfaction over the successive victories being recorded by the SGPC’s Kabaddi team in the Delhi Morcha Kabaddi League being organized by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha in Delhi.
SGPC EC also paid tributes for the demise of Chief Khalsa Diwan leader S. Bhag Singh Ankhi and Sikh leader of Jammu and Kashmir S. Tarlochan Singh Wazir after reading out condolences resolutions in this regard.
Apart from SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur, senior vice-president S. Surjit Singh Bhitewad, junior vice-president Baba Buta Singh, general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, chief secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, executive committee members, and concerned officials were also present.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, 23 ਸਤੰਬਰ- ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬੀਬੀ ਜਗੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸੀਨਤਾ ਵਿਖਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਿਖੇ ਪੱਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਮਤਿਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਢੁੱਕਵੀਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ। ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੀ ਅੰਤ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੀ ਇਕੱਤਰਤਾ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਬੀਬੀ ਜਗੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਲ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਵਾਲੇ 30 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਐਕਟ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਇਸ ’ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਗਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਰ ਰਹੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੰਤ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਤੇ ਸੰਜੀਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਂ ਮਿਲਣ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦਾ ਵਫ਼ਦ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਬੇਰੁਖੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਵੱਈਏ ਤਹਿਤ ਹੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਮ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ। ਬੀਬੀ ਜਗੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਅੰਤ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਢੁੱਕਵੀਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਅਗਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਜ਼ੁੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਅਸਲ ਕੜੀ ਤੱਕ ਪੁੱਜਣਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਲਈ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਮਕਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਆਵੇ।
ਬੀਬੀ ਜਗੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਹਮਾਇਤ ’ਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੀ ਬੇਅਦਬੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈਆਂ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਸ ਪੁੱਜੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟੀਆਂ ਹਰਕਤਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਲਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਰਮ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਦੇਣ। ਬੀਬੀ ਜਗੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਮਿਲਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੂਨ 1984 ਸਮੇਂ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਸਬ-ਕਮੇਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫਾਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਾਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਦੀ ਪੀੜਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਹਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਖੁਦ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬੇਸਮੈਂਟ ’ਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਖੂਹ ਵੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਲਦ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸਬ-ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਤ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅੰਤ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਬੀਬੀ ਜਗੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਐਨਏਬੀਐਚ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਮਿਲਣ ’ਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਕਬੱਡੀ ਲੀਗ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਤਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ। ਅੰਤ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣਾ ਕਰ ਗਏ ਚੀਫ਼ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਸ. ਭਾਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਣਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਮੂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਗੂ ਸ. ਤਰਲੋਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਜੀਰ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣੇ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਕ ਮਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਜਲੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
