As Ottawa blockade members ignore order to leave, police make arrests

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – Late Thursday, police detained two of the primary organisers of an anti-government protest on Parliament Hill, as massive trucks refused to leave a continuous roadblock that has enraged citizens for weeks.
Tamara Lich was arrested after Chris Barber had been arrested earlier, according to Keith Wilson, a lawyer for the so-called Freedom Convoy.
“Tamara assured me that she isn’t afraid. He said in a statement that she “indicated she will continue to work for the restoration of our rights and freedoms for all Canadians.”
Lich was still in arrest after being accused with one count of counselling mischief. Barber’s identity was unknown.
Lich had declared earlier in the evening that she was prepared to be arrested and that her personal bank account had been frozen.

“ਤਮਰਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਡਰਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਲੀ ਲਈ ਲੜਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ, ”ਉਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਲਿਚ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਉਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਸ਼ਰਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਨਾਈ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਚ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਬੈਂਕ ਖਾਤਾ ਫ੍ਰੀਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
