ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ: The ‘No Cell Phone’ policy is continuing in SunnyView Middle School, Ross Drive, and Robert J. Lee Public Schools in Brampton’s wards 9 and 10. If SunnyView students bring phones to school, they are kept in the office for the duration of the day. Students are not allowed to keep their phones in lockers, backpacks, pouches, pockets, desks, or even in classrooms.
ਵਾਰਡ 9 ਤੋਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ: Cell phone (Device) policy at Ross Drive Public School (Dixie/Countryside) has been very well received by the families and the large majority of the students. A significant reduction in phones being brought to school as families are now aware that students are not required to bring devices for learning purposes. Thank you for your continued cooperation!
ਵਾਰਡ 10 ਤੋਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ: Sandalwood Heights Secondary School has now Bhangra and Cricket clubs for the students, and the administrators are working on Kabaddi club. Castlebrooke Secondary has started offering a cricket club for the students, and the educators are taking steps to add Bhangra and Kabaddi clubs in that school.
ਘਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਚੌਕਸੀ ਜਰੂਰੀ: Parents must pay attention and monitor the amount of time children spend on their cell phones (social media) at home. Thanks in advance for your partnership in ensuring that the students get the best education possible by staying focused and engaged in their studies.
ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਖਲ੍ਹੇ: ‘Open House’ will be held in most of the PDSB schools during the next around two weeks. Parents and families are welcome to meet teachers and explore the school and the library. Ask your home school’s staff for an open house date and time. Carberry PS (in Brampton’s ward 9) open house will take place tomorrow from 6 to 7 pm. The same activity for Mount Royal Public School (Ward 10) is scheduled for October 5 from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

ਸਕੂਲ `ਚ ਫੋਨ ਤੇ ਕੈਸ਼ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ: To ensure that students stay focused on learning and on listening to their teachers, do not send children to school with cell phones, and cash/bank cards. Give or provide them lunch from home instead. The Data shows that without cell phones, students are more focused on learning, they collaborate better with their classmates, and teachers do not have to spend (waste) time dealing with phone-related/social media (abuse) issues.
