-ਬੇਸਮੈਂਟ `ਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ: As record high temperature is in the weather forecast for today and tomorrow, a flood watch (due to melting snow) for Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon is in effect.

– ਕੈਨੇਡਾ `ਚ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਉਪਰ ਘਰ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਦੀ ਰੋਕ: As per the new law implemented in Canada yesterday, international students are barred from buying a home over $500000. They must have filed tax returns for every of the 5 taxation years preceding the year in which the purchase was made. Foreign students are also required to be physically present in Canada for a minimum of 244 days in each of the 5 years before buying a home.

– ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਵਰਕਰਾਂ ਉਪਰ ਘਰ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਦੀ ਰੋਕ: Foreign workers with a valid work permit, must have worked full-time in Canada for minimum 3 years within the past 4 years before they purchase a home in this country. They also must have filed tax returns for at least 3 years (within 4 years) preceding the purchase of the residential property.

– CRA ਦਫਤਰ ਅੱਜ ਬੰਦ: CRA’s customer and contact centers are closed until tomorrow but applications for the Canada Dental Benefit or the one-time top-up ($500) to the Canada Housing (rental) Benefit can be made online.

– ਸਿਟੀ ਹਾਲ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ: After the seasonal holidays, the City hall of Mississauga and Brampton will reopen tomorrow at 8.30 am.

– ਸਕੂਲ 9 ਤੋਂ: School students at the Peel District School Board will enjoy their holidays this week. Schools will open on January 9.
