Ontario: 693 patients in hospital with COVID-19, 249 in ICU

On Monday, Ontario reported 693 patients with COVID in hospitals, with 249 in intensive care units.
This is an increase of 9 hospitalizations and two ICU admissions over the previous day, while officials highlighted that owing to the weekend, not all hospitals supplied updated figures.
There were 849 hospitalizations on Monday, with 279 in the intensive care unit.
The province has recently begun to distinguish between people who were admitted to the hospital for COVID-related reasons and those who were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for the virus.
Due to insufficient data reporting from hospitals over the weekend, those figures aren’t updated on Mondays.
