At Ontario legislature, a youth-led rally will demand immediate climate action

TORONTO, ON- At the Ontario legislature today, a youth-led march is planned to demand immediate climate action from leaders at all levels of government.
The rally and march will take place at Queen’s Park at 12:30 p.m., organized by Fridays For Future Toronto.
The event, according to organizer Alienor Rougeout, is an opportunity for people to demand immediate action from lawmakers on issues relating to climate change.
The event, she says, will also call on the federal Liberal administration, which was just re-elected, to keep the climate promises it made during the election campaign.
The organizers of the event are also demanding that climate justice be included in the Ontario education curriculum for all grades, that encampment evictions in Toronto be stopped, and that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action be fully implemented.
As part of the, similar protests are planned in cities across the country.
The #FridaysForFuture school strike began in August of 2018.

‘ਫਰਾਈਡੇਜ਼ ਫਾਰ ਫਿਉਚਰ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ’ ਰੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਚ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਕਵੀਨਜ਼ ਪਾਰਕ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 12:30 ਵਜੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਯੋਜਕ ਏਲੀਅਨਰ ਰੂਜਆਉਟ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਲਵਾਯੂ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਰਾਜਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਨ।
ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰੈਲੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਚੁਣੀ ਗਈ ਸੰਘੀ ਲਿਬਰਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਲ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਹੇਗੀ।
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਫਰਾਈਡੇਜ਼ ਫਾਰ ਫਿਉਚਰ’ ਸਕੂਲ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਗਸਤ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
