Capacity limits lifted for theatres and venues in Ontario; restaurants and gyms left out

The Ontario government announced the easing of capacity limits in some areas of the province, although restaurants and gyms are still excluded.
As of 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, cinemas, theatres, spectator sports venues, concert venues, meeting and event spaces, and horseracing and car racing tracks are all entitled to open to 100 percent capacity.
The modifications are being made based on high vaccination rates, steady public health indicators, and the vaccine certificate requirements that went into effect last month, according to the government.
Despite the lifting of the capacity restrictions, health officials are advising venues and locales to continue safety measures such as face coverings, screening, and contact tracing.
For outdoor venues with a usual capacity of 20,000 or more, proof of immunisation is still necessary.
Restaurants and gyms are noticeably absent from the list, despite their calls for the province to relax its restrictions, particularly in light of the vaccine certificate’s adoption on Sept. 22.
However, the province stated in the announcement that capacity constraints will continue to apply to all those who aren’t mentioned.
