COVID-19 hospitalizations in Ontario decreased to 3,797, while ICU admissions increased to 604

On Sunday, COVID-19-related hospitalizations in Ontario fell to 3,797, with 604 ICU admissions.
The figures represent a decline from the 4,026 patients admitted to the hospital the day before and an increase from the 600 patients admitted to the ICU on Saturday.
Not all hospitals report on weekends, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.
At least 2,079 COVID-19 patients are fully vaccinated, 783 are unvaccinated, and 194 are partially vaccinated while in the hospital. For the remaining 741 patients, no vaccination information was supplied.
There are 227 completely vaccinated patients in the ICU, 216 unprotected patients, and 17 partially vaccinated patients. The ICU’s remaining 144 patients’ vaccination status is unknown.
According to government data, COVID-19 is being treated in 81 percent of ICU patients, while 19 percent were admitted for other reasons.
On Sunday, the government reported 5,833 new cases of COVID-19, albeit current case estimates are likely an underestimate due to the province’s limited testing capabilities.
