Five people killed in a truck-van collision in southern Ontario

QUINTE WEST, Ont.- A vehicle and a tractor trailer collided on Highway 401 near Quinte West, Ont., killing five persons, according to provincial police.
Two additional passengers were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries after the early-morning crash on Saturday, according to police.
According to reports, a stretch of highway was stopped for ten hours while collision reconstructionists investigated the incident.
Police have not released the ages of those affected, and they have stated that the identities of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
They intend to issue updates when additional information becomes available.
The crash’s cause is still being investigated.

ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ 10 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਟੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਪੁਨਰ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਸਨ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
