Ford late to ask for help, short on support for vulnerable Ontarians: Horwath

Andrea Horwath, Official Opposition NDP Leader, released the following statement about military help for Ontario:

“Ontario needs all the help we can get during this unprecedented health crisis. We’re grateful for any support other provinces, agencies like the Red Cross, and the Canadian military can provide.

Healthcare workers are doing their best to provide care to the sickest Ontarians while our healthcare system faces mounting pressures. We thank each and every healthcare worker in the province for their incredible efforts.

Doug Ford has failed to listen to the advice of scientific experts. He’s late to ask for help from the federal government. He still hasn’t delivered paid sick days.

Every minute of delay creates more suffering and costs more lives. Ontarians cannot afford any more of Doug Ford’s delays and inaction.”
