Ford to cut income taxes for Ontarians who make less than $50,000 a year

Ford wants to lower taxes on Ontarians who make less than $50,000 per year.
According to insiders, Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s 2022 budget will include a commitment to decrease income taxes for Ontarians earning less than $50,000 per year.
Source said, the budget, which is expected to be delayed until after the election, will raise the Low-Income Individuals and Families (LIFT) tax credit eligibility from $38,000 to $50,000.
According to the source, around 1.1 million taxpayers will receive an average of $300 in tax relief in 2022 as a result of the adjustment.
The party did not clarify whether anyone earning more than $200,000 a year would face higher income taxes.
The budget will be tabled by Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy on Thursday afternoon.
