Ontario and Quebec police chased truck driver for nine hours

Cornwall, Ontario (Kultaran Singh Padhiana): Police in Quebec and Ontario have finally arrested and charged a truck driver who refused to stop for 850 kilometers and was on the run for nine hours. The arrested and charged truck driver has been identified as Kitchener Ontario resident Lovepreet Singh, 27, who was introduced by video conference Thursday afternoon at a courthouse in Cornwall, Ontario. He has also been charged with absconding and violating the conditions of release. Earlier, he was also accused of making property through crime or theft.
At 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, on Highway 20, near Quebec, in Beaumont, authorities began trying to stop the truck after receiving a 911 call to report the irresponsible behavior of a trucker, but truck driver Lovepreet Singh Refused to stop the truck. Lovepreet Singh also hit a police vehicle and drove the truck for about 850 kilometers. He first ran to Montreal, then to St. Hyacinth where he overtook several vehicles, then to Highway 30 West, then to Slaberry-D-Valleyfield Sector, then Highway 530, then Highway 201, then Highway 20 West and finally Highway 401 to Toronto.
On the way, the Ontario Provincial Police tried to stop him by using various methods, sometimes nailing the road, sometimes scaling up and sometimes erecting more barricades, but the driver was not apprehended in any way. Police have arrested the truck driver at a gas station in Brampton. Kitchener resident Lovepreet Singh has been arrested for the third time on charges of dangerous driving. After Cornwall’s appearance, Lovepreet Singh will be arraigned to appear in a Quebec court on a similar charge.
ਕੋਰਨਵਾਲ,ਉਨਟਾਰੀਓ : ਕਿਉਬਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ 850 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਰੁਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਂ ਘੰਟਿਆ ਤੱਕ ਭਾਜੜਾ ਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰਜ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਿਚਨਰ ਉਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਵਾਸੀ ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ (27) ਵਜੋ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਕੋਰਨਵਾਲ, ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਦੇ ਕੋਰਟਹਾਊਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਉਪਰ ਫਰਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸਤੋ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਉਸ ਉਪਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਇਮ ਜਾ ਚੋਰੀ ਰਾਹੀ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰੇ 12:15 ਵਜੇ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 20 ‘ਤੇ, ਕਿਊਬਿਕ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ, ਬੀਓਮੋਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਟਰੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਗੈਰ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ 911 ਕਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਟਰੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੇ ਯਤਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਟਰੱਕ ਰੋਕਣ ਤੋ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਟੱਕਰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੱਗਭਗ 850 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਤੱਕ ਟਰੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ।ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਾਂਟਰੀਅਲ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜਿਆ ਫਿਰ ਸੇਂਟ-ਹਾਇਸਿਂਥੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਸ਼ੋਲਡਰ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਓਵਰਟੇਕ ਕੀਤਾ ,ਫਿਰ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 30 ਵੇਸਟ,ਫਿਰ ਸਲਾਬੇਰੀ-ਡੀ-ਵੈਲੀਫੀਲਡ ਸੈਕਟਰ, ਫਿਰ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 530, ਫਿਰ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 201, ਫਿਰ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 20 ਵੇਸਟ ਅੰਤ ਚ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 401 ਲੈਕੇ ਟਰਾਂਟੋ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਹੋ ਤੁਰਿਆ।
ਇਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਰਸਤੇ ਚ ਉਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਪ੍ਰੋਵਿਨਸ਼ਨਿਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਢੰਗ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਵਰਤ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਦੇ ਸੜਕ ਤੇ ਕਿਲ ਲਾਏ ,ਕਦੇ ਸਕੇਲ ਉਪਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਬੈਰੀਕੇਡ ਲਾਏ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਬੂ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ । ਅੰਤ ਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਰੈਂਪਟਨ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਗੈਸ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਚਨਰ ਵਾਸੀ ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾ ਹੇਠ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਰਨਵਾਲ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ੀ ਤੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੀ ਚਾਰਜਾ ਹੇਠ ਕਿਉਬਕ ਦੀਆ ਅਦਾਲਤਾ ਚ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
