ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ: 70 ਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਲਈ ਤੀਜੀ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ

This month, Ontario will begin distributing third doses of COVID-19 vaccine to additional three million people, including health-care workers and anybody over the age of 70, with the goal of offering booster shots to the general public in 2022.

People aged 70 and older, frontline healthcare workers, people who have already had two doses of the Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine or other viral vector/adenovirus vaccinations, and all Indigenous Ontarians will be able to book third shots starting Nov. 6.

They also permit third shots for a huge number of immunocompromised persons and those taking immune-suppressing medications.

By Wednesday, 161,000 patients, or 65 percent of those who were eligible, had gotten their third dose.

About 1.7 million people over the age of 70, approximately 750,000 persons working in healthcare, long-term care, and other communal settings, and roughly 200,000 Indigenous Ontario residents will now be eligible as of this Saturday.

It will also include around 200,000 patients who had two Astra Zeneca vaccination doses as well as those who received the Johnson & Johnson single shot vaccine in the United States and internationally.

A third shot may be given to anyone in these four groups no sooner than two months following their second shot.

The plan released Wednesday calls for booster shots to be available to the entire population beginning in early 2022, based on age and risk factors.

Officials speaking on the condition of anonymity said they are waiting for more information from the federal National Advisory Committee on Immunization, but they expect to be told to start giving third shots to the general public in that timeframe, pending changes in ongoing research on waning immunity.

6 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਦੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਤੋਂ, 70 ਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਫਰੰਟਲਾਈਨ ਹੈਲਥਕੇਅਰ ਵਰਕਰ, ਐਸਟਰਾ ਜ਼ਨੇਕਾ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਵੈਕਟਰ/ਐਡੀਨੋਵਾਇਰਸ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਖੁਰਾਕਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਅਨ ਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੇ ਸ਼ਾਟ ਦੀ ਬੁਕਿੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਗੇ।

ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਲੌਂਗ ਟਰਮ ਕੇਅਰ ਹੋਮ, ਫਸਟ ਨੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਟਾਇਰਮੈਂਟ ਹੋਮਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਜੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਉਹ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮਿਊਨੋ-ਕੰਪ੍ਰੋਮਾਈਜ਼ਡ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਿਊਨ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਤੀਜੇ ਸ਼ਾਟ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਇਸ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੀ ਹੋਈ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਹੁਣ 70 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਲਗਭਗ 1.7 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ, ਲੌਂਗ ਟਰਮ ਕੇਅਰ ਹੋਮ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਸੈਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਗਭਗ 750,000 ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਭਗ 200,000 ਮੂਲਵਾਸੀ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
