TORONTO — A plane makes an emergency landing on Highway 407 in Markham, Ontario. According to the toll road’s operator, a jet made an emergency landing on Highway 407 in Markham on Wednesday morning.

Before 11 a.m., the plane landed in the eastbound lanes of the highway near the Woodbine Avenue off ramp.

A photo that went viral on social media showed a single-engine propeller plane on the road with police cars parked behind it.

Two occupants exited the plane on foot, according to reporters on the site.

The plane took off from Buttonville Airport but immediately ran into mechanical problems, forcing it to try a landing on the 407.

Three lanes of Highway 407 ETR are closed due to emergency personnel response, according to the ETR.

It’s likely that the eastbound lanes or the entire route will be closed.

There was no indication on how many people were on board the jet or whether anyone was hurt.

The plane was a Piper PA-28 registered to Caribbean Flying Club in Toronto, according to public aviation data.

ਯੌਰਕ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਬਟਨਵਿਲੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਡਾਣ ਭਰੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਮਕੈਨੀਕਲ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ 407 ‘ਤੇ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਹਾਈਵੇਅ 407 ਈਟੀਆਰ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਾਈਵੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਲੇਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
