President Joe Biden’s administration has advised all Americans to avoid traveling to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and the Maldives as cases of Kovid-19 infection are on the rise in the region.

The advisory, released on Thursday, also called on all Americans to reconsider traveling to China and Nepal. He also asked to be careful while traveling to Sri Lanka and Bhutan.

The US administration has placed India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Maldives on Level 4, which means that Americans should not travel to these countries. The State Department said in a statement that it “should not travel to India, Pakistan or Afghanistan for reasons such as cowardice, crime or terrorism.”

The CDC, which issued the Level 4 Travel Health Notice for India, said that corona is widespread in India. The presence of terrorists along with Kovid-19 in Pakistan has been cited as a major reason for not going there.

The advisory said there was a real threat of terrorism in some parts of Pakistan. Terrorist groups often conspire to carry out attacks in Pakistan.

The Americans have been advised not to go to Afghanistan on the grounds of cowardice, crime, terrorism, unrest among civilians, kidnappings and armed conflict.
