– A frustrated resident (70) reportedly targeted and killed 5 Board members of the condo building management (in their units) in Vaughan last night. The shooter was killed by the police.

– IRCC reduced the backlog of immigration and visa applications by nearly 500000 during the past 4 months. The department had processed approximately 4.8 million applications until November 30, which is nearly twice, the 2.5 million processed during the same period in 2021.

– Refugee claimants in Canada get a work permit within one month. This backlog time was lately up to 20 months.
– Former International students, whose post-graduation work permits (WP) expired, or will expire from September 20, 2021, to December 31, 2022, are allowed to work in Canada for an additional 18 months. They can either get their work permit extended or apply for a new WP.
– IRCC confirmed this morning that all new spousal sponsorship cases are now processed within one year and new Express Entry (EE) applications are decided within 6 months.
