-Processing time for Permanent Resident (PR) Cards is reportedly increasing. The current processing time is around 75 days. New cards are mailed within around 2 months after the immigrant lands in Canada.
-With the upcoming Holidays and Festival Season, IRCC is reportedly receiving an increased number of urgent cases for PR card renewal.
-Proof of residence in Canada is required for a PR card renewal.
-Before Canada’s study permit is approved, Letter of Acceptance (LOA) verification for International students began on Dec. 1.
-DLI is required to verify the LOA within 10 days. If verification is not received in 10 days, IRCC will return the study permit application, and the fee will be refunded. Application return is not a refusal.
-Peel police arrested two secondary school students from Brampton yesterday. They face weapon-related charges. Half a dozen girls from two schools were suspended in the past two weeks for vaping, and bullying students in the schools.
-IRCC data shows that at present there would be around 268000 post graduate work permit (PGWP) holders in Canada. And, 127000 PGWPs will be expiring on December 31, 2023
-Winter break for PDSB students will begin on December 25, 2023. Schools in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon will reopen on January 8, 2024.
