(Satpal Singh Johal) -Welcome to the 17th day, January 17 of 2024. Happy Wednesday!
-People in Canada are experiencing these days coldest days of the Winter. A couple of freezing conditions-related deaths have also been reported. Be safe.
-Starting February 9, the City of Brampton will not accept credit card payments/information over the phone, by email, or any other payments taken outside the City facilities. Instead, residents, visitors, and businesses will have an option to use secure online payment options to pay for City services and fees. In addition, the City staff will no longer store people’s credit card information in its internal systems. For more information, call 311.
-Around half a dozen girls from an elementary school in Brampton’s Ward 9 are facing serious disciplinary consequences for creating fake social media accounts (from home!) to bully one of their classmates during the recent Holiday Season, Winter break.
-Parents of all these girls were surprised after hearing about these incidents (took place from home, bedrooms!) as they were under the impression that their children were the best!
-PDSB principals and teachers are doing what they can to curb cellphone abuse in the schools but, Only, parents/guardians can monitor their children’s internet/device use/abuse from home.
-No cell phone and cash are required for going to learn in a school in Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon.
-Kids’ cellphone/internet abuse, if not monitored by the parents properly, increases in homes/bedrooms during the holidays and weekends.
-Those parents, who are not able to successfully supervise their children’s internet use/abuse constantly, must not buy a cellphone for their little children, as pupils do not need it in school. Cash/credit card is also not needed to go to learn in our schools.
