ਡੱਗ ਫੋਰਡ ਨੇ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਦੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ

Premier Doug Ford has stated that he will not require hospital personnel to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, stating that he is “not prepared to imperil the delivery of care to millions of Ontarians.”

Ford said mandated vaccines for hospital staff are a “difficult problem” that might result in the “possible departure of tens of thousands of health-care personnel,” according to a statement released on Wednesday.

Ford stated that the government will continue to monitor the issue, but that for the time being, it has decided to take a “flexible approach by delegating human resourcing decisions to individual hospitals.”

He said the “small number” of COVID-19 outbreaks in Ontario hospitals is not worth enforcing a provincial vaccine policy.

Six of Ontario’s 141 hospital are currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak, Ford said.

His statement also pointed to news of surgery cancellations in British Columbia due to staff shortages after its vaccine mandate took effect.

ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਫੋਰਡ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਟੀਕੇ ਇੱਕ “ਗੁੰਝਲਦਾਰ ਮੁੱਦਾ” ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ “ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਵਿਦਾਇਗੀ” ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਫੋਰਡ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਥਿਤੀ ‘ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੇਗੀ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਲਈ “ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਫੈਸਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਲਚਕਦਾਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।”

ਫੋਰਡ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਦੇ 141 ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੇ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਕੋਪ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੀਕੇ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੀ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
