With up to 10 cm of snow on the way, Toronto is under a winter weather travel alert

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Toronto, predicting five to ten millimeters of snowfall throughout the weekend.
Snow is forecast to start falling late Saturday afternoon or evening and last through Sunday. Snowfall of one to two millimeters per hour is forecast during peak periods.
Roads may become snow-covered and ice Saturday night and Sunday morning, making travel risky. Drivers should plan ahead of time for potentially hazardous situations.
“Consider postponing non-essential travel until the weather improves,” the weather service advises.
A low-pressure system passed south of Lake Erie Saturday night, resulting in the snowfall. If the system moves, the amount of snowfall could be reduced.
