Ontario: 2,155 in hospitals with COVID, with 486 in ICU

On Monday, Ontario reported 2,155 individuals in hospitals with COVID, with 486 of them in intensive care units.
This is down 75 hospitalizations and unchanged for ICUs from the previous day, while officials highlighted that owing to the weekend, not all hospitals supplied updated numbers.
There were 2,983 hospitalizations on Monday, with 583 in ICU, as the numbers continue to decline.
The province has recently begun to distinguish between people who were admitted to the hospital for COVID-related reasons and those who were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for the virus.
Due to insufficient data reporting from hospitals over the weekend, those figures aren’t updated on Mondays.
However, according to data from last week, around 46% of people admitted to hospitals with COVID were there for other reasons. Around 18% of individuals in intensive care with the infection were admitted for other reasons.
