ਡਾ: ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੱਧੜ ਸਰਵਉੱਚ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ‘ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰਤਨ’ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ
A former student of Punjab Agricultural University and retired Professor of Extension Education, Dr. Davinder Singh was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Canada under the name Punjab Ratna. This award was given to him for his great contribution to the society. At the 44th Annual Gathering, the honor conferred on Davinder Singh. Dr. Davinder Singh completed his PHD in 1982 and Started working as Assistant Director Communications in PAU. He then retired in 2012 as Senior Professor Extension Education. He is the author of over 100 dissertations, two book chapters, eleven bulletins and forty other publications. He has participated in over 60 lectures and about 55 radio and television conversations, and has been a part of over 50 research projects. Apart from this he guided about 100 students in many courses. He was honored by the Indian Society for Extension Education in 2008. Dr. Singh has been participating in many programs related to Punjabi heritage and Punjabi language in Canada and India from time to time.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਸਾਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਾ-ਮੁਕਤ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ‘ਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰਤਨ ਨਾਂਅ ਹੇਠ ਲਾਈਫ ਟਾਈਮ ਅਚੀਵਮੈਂਟ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ | ਇਹ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ | 44ਵੀਂ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਇਕੱਤਰਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ | ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ 1982 ਵਿਚ ਪੀ. ਐੱਚ. ਡੀ. ਕਰਕੇ ਪੀ. ਏ. ਯੂ. ਵਿਚ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ | ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਪਸਾਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਜੋਂ 2012 ਵਿਚ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਏ | ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਅ ਹੇਠਾਂ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਪਸਾਰ ਲੇਖ, ਦੋ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਏ, ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਬੁਲੇਟਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਲੀ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 60 ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਪਸਾਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ 55 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਵਾਰਤਾਲਾਪਾਂ ‘ਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ 50 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਖੋਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਰਹੇ | ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ 100 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ |ਪਸਾਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਅੱਠ ਵਿਚ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ | ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਾਹੇ-ਬਗਾਹੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ | ਅਡੀਸ਼ਨਲ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਡਾ. ਤੇਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਿਆੜ ਅਤੇ ਪਸਾਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ |
