Tolls on two Durham Region highways will be removed by Ontario government

The Ford government has announced that the tolls on two Durham Region roadways will be removed permanently in April.
The only tolled north-south roadways currently held by the province are Highways 412 and 418.
Premier Doug Ford announced the elimination of tolls on both highways on April 5 during a press conference on Friday afternoon.
The move comes after a group of mayors in Durham Region wrote a letter to the province in December pushing it to eliminate tolls.

ਪਰ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਡੱਗ ਫੋਰਡ ਨੇ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ 5 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਤੱਕ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਹਾਈਵੇਅ ਲਈ ਟੋਲ ਖਤਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਦਸੰਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰਹਮ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਮੇਅਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਟੋਲ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
