On some highway sections in Ontario, speed limits fixed at 110 km/h permanently

The province of Ontario is expected to declare today that speed limits of 110 km/h on six portions of provincial highways will remain in place.
The province began a trial project in 2019 to increase highway speeds in certain regions around the province, and The Canadian Press has learnt that those speed limits will now be permanent as of April 22.
Minister of Transportation Caroline Mulroney, who is expected to make the news later today, said in a statement that the highway portions were carefully chosen for their capacity to accommodate higher speeds.
It covers the Queen Elizabeth Way between Hamilton and St. Catharines, Highway 402 between London and Sarnia, Highway 417 between Ottawa and the Quebec border, as well as the Kanata area to Arnprior, Highway 401 between Windsor and Tilbury, and Highway 404 between Newmarket and Woodbine.
