Police are investigating the death of a woman whose corpse was discovered in the middle of a west Toronto street early Tuesday morning.
At 1:30 a.m., emergency workers were dispatched to Lansdowne Avenue, south of Dupont Street, for what appeared to be a pedestrian struck.
When they arrived, they discovered a woman in the middle of the road with multiple serious injuries.
At the scene, she was pronounced deceased.
Police at the scene said they haven’t been able to identify the woman and aren’t sure if her injuries were caused by a vehicle collision or something else.
Between Dupont Street and Lappin Avenue, Lansdowne Avenue was closed to enable for an investigation.
ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਗਲੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੀ ਹੈ।
ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਅਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 1:30 ਵਜੇ ਡੂਪੋਂਟ ਸਟ੍ਰੀਟ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਲੈਂਸਡਾਊਨ ਐਵੇਨਿਊ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ।
ਉਹਨਾ ਨੇ ਸੜਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਰੂਪ ‘ਚ ਜਖਮੀ ਪਾਇਆ।
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਐਲਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪੱਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਜਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਲੈਂਸਡਾਊਨ ਐਵੇਨਿਊ ਡੂਪੋਂਟ ਸਟ੍ਰੀਟ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਪਿਨ ਐਵੇਨਿਊ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
