Hamilton: 42-year-old man seriously injured after hit-and-run

After being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in Hamilton overnight, a 42-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It happened just after 2 a.m. on Upper Wentworth Street, between Kingfisher Drive and Lincoln Alexander Parkway, according to Hamilton police.
When a bystander saw the pedestrian, they quickly dialled 911. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital in critical condition after emergency teams arrived.
The victim was struck by a southbound vehicle that fled the scene, according to police.
“The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit was engaged due to the serious injury received and is continuing the investigation,” police said in a statement. “The road has been reopened, and police are looking for witnesses and video surveillance in the area.”
Investigators are encouraging anyone who has video from the incident to come forward.

ਇੱਕ ਰਾਹਗੀਰ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਲ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਖਮੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ 911 ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਰਾਮੈਡਿਕਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਨੇ ਟੱਕਰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜੋ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਫਰਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਸੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਲਈ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
