An apartment complex in Malton was evacuated Saturday evening due to a hazmat incident, according to officials.
Crews from Mississauga Fire went to a medical emergency at a six-story structure near Morning Star and Goreway roads soon before 10 p.m., according to Mississauga Fire.
Three people experienced difficulties breathing at first, but when firefighters came, other neighbours suffered similar symptoms, necessitating a full hazmat response, according to Mississauga Fire.

Three persons were checked at the scene by Peel paramedics, however none of them required hospitalisation.
The cause was unknown at the time.
The evacuation was being assisted by Peel police, according to them. It’s unknown how many people are affected.
