Gas prices in the Greater Toronto Area have officially surpassed their previous peak.
The average price of a litre of normal gasoline increased by four cents to 194.9 cents at midnight.
At least one station, though, was offering petrol for 192.9 cents a litre.
Regardless, it surpasses the previous high of 190.9 cents per litre established on March 10th.
Drivers aren’t expected to see any relief anytime soon.
Indeed, Canadians for Affordable Energy President Dan McTeague told earlier this week that he expects petrol prices to continue to rise, with prices expected to exceed $2 per litre by the Victoria Day long weekend.

ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਫਾਰ ਅਫੋਰਡੇਬਲ ਐਨਰਜੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਡੈਨ ਮੈਕਟੀਗ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਹਫਤੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਗੈਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਦੇ $2 ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਲੀਟਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ।
