ਅੱਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਸ ਖਬਰਾਂ
(ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੌਹਲ)- ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਉਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ 82ਵੀਂ ਬਰਸੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਬਰੈਂਪਟਨ `ਚ ਕਈ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੌਮੀ ਯੋਧੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। 13 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 1919 ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ, ਮਾਈਕਲ ਓਡਵਾਇਰ, ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਾਪੇ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਊਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਠੰਡਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਯਾਦ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਜਾਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰੋਪਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਪਲੂਸੀ ਤੇ ਡਰਪੋਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਸੀ।
-ਸੰਦੀਪ ਬਰਾੜ, ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਾਇਆ, ਤੇ ਗੋਗਾ ਬਰ੍ਹਮਪੁਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ, ਉੱਘੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਯਾਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ‘ਕਰਫਿਊ’ ਦਾ ਬਰੈਂਪਟਨ ਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ, ਹਰਕੀਰਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਤੇ ‘ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪੋਸਟ’ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬ੍ਰੋਡਕਾਸਟ੍ਰਜ਼ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸਨਮਾਨ।
-ਲੌਂਗਵੀਕਏਂਡ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਉਂਟਾਰੀਓ `ਚ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ਮੌਸਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਲੇਕ ਉਂਟਾਰੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਦੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਿਗਣ ਨਾਲ 1 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਮੌਤ। ਸਕਾਰਬਰੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਤੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਇਕ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਜ ਕੇ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਮੌਕੇ `ਤੇ ਮੌਤ।
-ਸਰੀ `ਚ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ 2 ਮੌਤਾਂ 1 ਜਖਮੀ। ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ।
-ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਸਟਿਨ ਟਰੂਡੋ ਅੱਜ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਓਟਾਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੁੱਟੀ `ਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਦੋ ਹਫਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਕੋਸਟਾ ਰੀਕਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ `ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ।
-On the occasion of the 82nd death anniversary of Shaheed Udham Singh, the national warrior was remembered during several events in Brampton yesterday. Michael O’Dwyer, accused of the 13th April 1919 massacre, was cooled by Shaheed Udham Singh, not ‘Siropa’. It should be remembered that killing that tyrant was the limit of flattery and cowardice.
