ਅੱਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਸ ਖਬਰਾਂ
(ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੌਹਲ)- ਓਰੀਲੀਆ (near Barrie) ਵਿੱਚ ਓਪੀਪੀ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਐਤਵਾਰ (ਲਗਭਗ 25-ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ) ਨੂੰ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਡ੍ਰਾਈਵਿੰਗ ਲਈ 4 ਔਰਤਾਂ (ਸ਼ਰਾਬਣਾਂ/ਨਸ਼ੱਈ) ਡਰਾਈਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ 3 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਲਾਇਸੈਂਸ ਮੁਅੱਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
– ਸਟਾਫ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਕਾਰਨ, ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬੇ ਵੀਕਐਂਡ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਦਰਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ। ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ 200000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਸਰਜਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸੂਬਾਈ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ 10000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਨਵੇਂ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਸਟਾਫ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
– ਯਾਰਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ (29) ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ Vaughan ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਵੰਡਰਲੈਂਡ ਵਿਖੇ 18 ਪਾਰਕ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਇਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੈ।
– ਬੀਤੀ ਰਾਤ ਸਕਾਰਬਰੋ ਦੇ ਸਟੀਲਜ਼ ਐਵੇਨਿਊ ‘ਤੇ ਆਹਮੋ-ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਬੇਕਸੂਰ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਟੱਕਰ ਉਸ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ,ਜੋ wrong-side ਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਸ ਵਾਹਨ ਨੂ ਟੱਕਰ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ , ਉਸ ਵਾਹਨ ਚਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
-2 ਆਦਮੀ Civic Holiday long weekend ਵਿੱਚ ਲੇਕ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ (in St. Catherine and Toronto) ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਏ। ਇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਚਲਦੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ, ਟੋਇਡ ਟਿਊਬ ਝੀਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਲਟ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ।
-ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਸਟਿਨ ਟਰੂਡੋ ਨੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ Costa Rica ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ 2 ਹਫਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
(Satpal Singh Johal)- OPP in Orillia (near Barrie) arrested, and charged 4 female, drivers, for impaired driving on Saturday and Sunday (in about a 25-hour period). They were issued a 3-month license suspension, and their vehicles have been impounded for one week.
– Due to the staff shortages, over a dozen hospital emergency departments had to be closed during the long weekend in Ontario. More than 200000 patients are waiting for surgeries in the province. The provincial health ministry has confirmed that more than 10000 new medical staff was recently hired to deal with the situation.
– The York Police have a suspect (29) in custody who is responsible to slash the tires of 18 parked cars at Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan on Sunday.
– An innocent driver died, and two others were injured after a head-on collision on Steeles Avenue in Scarborough last night. The collision was reportedly caused by a wrong-side driver. The driver of the vehicle that was hit, died on the scene.
-2 men drowned in Lake Ontario (in St. Catherine and Toronto) over the Civic Holiday long weekend. One person fell from the moving boat and the other did not survive after his boat-towed tube flipped in the lake.
-PM Justin Trudeau started his 2-week vacation in Costa Rica yesterday.
