ਅੱਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਸ ਖਬਰਾਂ
(ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੌਹਲ) -ਇਹ 3 ਅਗਸਤ, 2022 ਦਾ 215ਵਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ। ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਰਕਸ਼ਾਬੰਧਨ (ਰੱਖੜੀ) ਅਗਲੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ, 11 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
– ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਈਲੈਟਸ ਬੈਂਡ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
– ਸਟੈਟਸ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੇ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ, ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਉਤਪੀੜਨ, ਅਤੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਵਾਧੇ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵੀ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ (2020 ਨਾਲੋਂ 29 ਵੱਧ) 788 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਬੀਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ 2021 ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੱਧ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਹੋਏ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ 2020 ਤੋਂ 2021 ਤੱਕ ਨਫ਼ਰਤੀ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 27 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
-ਬੀਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਲਾਇਸੰਸਸ਼ੁਦਾ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਮੁਖਤਿਆਰ (50), ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਪਤਨੀ (31, ਮਨਜੀਤ , ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵੀ ਹੈ) ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਹਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਨੂੰ 11 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਕੱਟਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
– ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਫ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਵੀਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਧਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਸਮੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਉਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਵਿੱਚ CGI ਤੋਂ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਧੀਰਜ ਪਾਰੀਕ ਨੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ 5-ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਸਟਿੱਕਰ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ, ਮਾਰਚ 2020 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਲਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਾਰੀਕ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਟੂਰਿਸਟ (ਟੀ) ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਦੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਵੀਜ਼ੇ ਮੁਅੱਤਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ‘ਐਕਸ’ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਵੀਜ਼ੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

Firearm offenses are also on the rise. 788 people were murdered last year (29 more than in 2020) in the country. BC and Ontario saw more homicides than in 2021. The official report also says that hate crimes added up to 27 percent from 2020 to 2021.
-Mukhtiar Panghli (50), a licensed teacher in BC, who killed his pregnant wife (Manjit Panghli, 31, also a teacher) and burned her body in a vehicle, has been granted a day-parole after spending 11 years in prison. He is not allowed to contact the victim’s family, including his own daughter.
– Applications for India’s visas are expected to rise during the coming weeks as Canadians have started planning their seasonal trip from October and onwards. Consul Dheeraj Pareek from the CGI in Toronto has confirmed that India’s 5-year sticker visa, issued to Canadian citizens before March 2020, is good to travel to India. Mr. Pareek has also said that long-term visas of the Tourist (T) category remain suspended but the same visas of the ‘X’ type can be used to travel to India.
– A semi-detached home caught fire last night in Scarborough, and one person died on the 2nd floor of the residence. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
