ਫੈਡਰਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਸਾਈਟਸ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ

ਫੈਡਰਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਬੈਕਲਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਕਲੀਅਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਲੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕਰੀਨਾ ਗੋਲਡ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਲਈ ਅਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਲੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਗੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈੱਡ ਡੀਅਰ, ਅਲਬਰਟਾ, ਸੂ ਸੇਂਟ ਮਰੀ, ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ, ਟਰੌਇਸ ਰਿਵਿਏਰਜ਼, ਕਿਊਬਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਰਲੈਟਟਾਊਨ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸ ਐਡਵਰਡ ਆਈਲੈਂਡ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪੰਜ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਲੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਗੋਲਡ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਲਦ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਨੌਂ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੱਡੀ ਤੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਅਰਬਨ ਏਰੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਆਫਿਸ ਦੇ ਐਨਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਕਲਾਗ ਜਲਦ ਘਟਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ।

The federal government is opening four new Passport Service locations across Canada to clear the large backlog of passport applications. Social Development Minister Karina Gould announced on Wednesday that people will now be able to use Service Canada’s four new locations to apply for and collect their passports. These locations include Red Deer, Alberta, Sioux Sainte Marie, Ontario, Trois Rivières, Quebec and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Before this, five new locations were added in July and Gould said that soon they will add seven to nine more locations to this program. She said that this is a big and important change and people like us living in urban areas do not realize how lucky we are to live so close to the passport office. She said that with these initiatives of the government, the backlog is expected to reduce soon.
