Nearly half of Canadians having hard time feeding their families

A new survey has found that nearly half of Canadians say they are having a hard time feeding their families because grocery bills are skyrocketing.
The Angus Reed Institute surveyed 1,992 Canadian adults about their household finances who are members of the Angus Reed Forum and believes what the Bank of Canada should do in response to inflation, which is now at an all-time high.
It found that 49 per cent of respondents now report that food prices, rising 8.7 per cent year-on-year in March, are making it harder or even harder to feed their families.
The survey found that 36 per cent of respondents reported being in a worse financial position than a year ago, while 24 per cent said their finances had improved in the last 12 months. Another 39 percent said that despite the rising cost of living, their finances were almost the same.

ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ 36 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਉੱਤਰਦਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ 24 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਿਛਲੇ 12 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ 39 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਵਧਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਲਗਭਗ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਸਨ।
