Meta, the parent corporation of Facebook, is opening a new technical centre in Toronto as part of its plans to expand the “metaverse.”
On Tuesday afternoon, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Meta officials announced the new hub in Toronto.
Over the next five years, he claims, the new hub would create 2,500 “high-paying” positions.
The majority of the positions will be engineering-related, with both in-office and remote work alternatives, according to Meta.

ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵਾਂ ਹੱਬ ਅਗਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 2,500 “ਉੱਚ-ਤਨਖਾਹ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ” ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਇੰਜਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ-ਕੇਂਦ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਫਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਮੋਟ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਲਪ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
