Peel Regional Police arrested 24 people, with 217 stolen vehicles

ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ 217 ਗੱਡੀਆ ਸਣੇ 24 ਜਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ

(Kultaran Singh Padhiana)- Peel Regional Police have arrested 24 people in the Greater Toronto area in connection with a six-month project called Hi-5, and a total of 321 charges have been filed.

Peel police have recovered 217 stolen vehicles. According to police, vehicles price is near about $11.1 million. In addition, more than one lakh cash  recovered. The arrests were made in Peel, Halton and York Region. Drugs and forged documents are also recovered.

This is a major operation by the Peel Police to curb car theft cases. The operation involved agencies such as the Peel Regional Police, Halton Regional Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Canadian Border Services Agency, Port of Montreal and Port of Halifax.

(ਕੁਲਤਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਧਿਆਣਾ)- ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ 6 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਹਾਈ ਫਾਈ ( High 5) ਤਹਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਚ ਗ੍ਰੇਟਰ ਟਰਾਂਟੋ ਖੇਤਰ ਚ 24 ਜਣੇ ਕਾਰ ਚੋਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆ ਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੱਲ 321 ਚਾਰਜ ਲਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪੀਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ 217 ਗੱਡੀਆ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀਆ ਗਈਆ ਹਨ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਈਆ ਗੱਡੀਆ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ 11.1 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਡਾਲਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇੱਕ ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਨਗਦੀ ਵੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਪੀਲ ,ਹਾਲਟਨ ਅਤੇ ਯੌਰਕ ਰੀਜਨ ਚ ਹੋਈਆ ਹਨ । ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਡਰੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਅਲੀ ਕਾਗਜ਼ਾਤ ਵੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਪੀਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਚੋਰੀਆ ਦਿਆਂ ਮਾਮਲਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਠੱਲ੍ਹ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਚ ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ, ਹਾਲਟਨ ਰੀਜ਼ਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ,ਉਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਪ੍ਰੋਵਿਨਸ਼ਨਿਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ,ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ,ਪੋਰਟ ਆਫ ਮੌੰਟਰਿਅਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਰਟ ਆਫ ਹੈਲੀਫੈਕਸ ਵਰਗੀਆ ਏਜੰਸੀਆ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
