Refunds for Ontario licence plate stickers expected to begin by the end of month

The province’s decision to delete licence plate stickers across the province took effect on Sunday, and it will soon begin offering refunds to people who re-upped in recent years.
Cheques will be sent before the end of the month, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation’s office.
MTO spokesperson Dakota Brasier said, “Every qualified individual owner of a vehicle who has paid any renewal fees since March 2020 will receive a refund.”
“Starting at the end of March and continuing through April, vehicle owners will receive a cheque mailed to the address on file with the government.”
The adjustment, which was announced in February, just months before the June election, would cost the province $1.1 billion.

ਐਮਟੀਓ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਡਕੋਟਾ ਬ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀਅਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਮਾਰਚ 2020 ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਨਵੀਨੀਕਰਨ ਫੀਸ ਦਾ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਯੋਗ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਫੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
“ਵਾਹਨ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਚ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਫਾਈਲ ‘ਤੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਪਤੇ ‘ਤੇ ਡਾਕ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੈੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”
