Tenants in West Toronto receive eviction notices due to an AC unit dispute

Many tenants in the Parkdale neighbourhood of west Toronto have received eviction warnings after it was claimed that they had air conditioning systems in their apartments but refused to pay extra rent to cover the expense of operating them.
Approximately 30 households at 130 Jameson Ave., just south of King Street West, were served with a N5 eviction notice on June 20. The notice instructed the residents to vacate their apartments by July 7 or pay a monthly fee to cover the higher hydro costs associated with maintaining the apartments.
According to longtime resident Shelly Dunphy, everyone impacted has resided in the structure for at least 15 years.
Tenants of 130 Jameson met out front of their building to plan their fight against their landlords — Myriad Holdings & Brownstone Developments — after being served with eviction notices for having air conditioners.

20 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ , ਕਿੰਗ ਸਟ੍ਰੀਟ ਵੈਸਟ ਦੇ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਦੱਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ 130 ਜੇਮਸਨ ਐਵੇਨਿਊ ਵਿਖੇ ਲਗਭਗ 30 ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ N5 ਬੇਦਖਲੀ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 7 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਖਾਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਂ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਉੱਚ ਹਾਈਡਰੋ ਲਾਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਫਸੈੱਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਹੀਨਾਵਾਰ ਫੀਸ ਦਾ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਂ ਸਬ-ਮੀਟਰਿੰਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਹਾਈਡਰੋ ਲਈ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
