Toronto’s COVID-19 emergency declaration ended by John Tory

The COVID-19 emergency declaration in Toronto has been lifted, according to Mayor John Tory.
As the COVID-19 pandemic spread over the world, an emergency was declared on March 23, 2020.
According to city officials, it was the first official emergency declaration in the contemporary history of Toronto.
“While COVID-19 remains a serious concern requiring ongoing efforts and vigilance, the City’s efforts in fighting COVID-19 have placed Toronto in a position where the emergency declared in response to the pandemic can be terminated,” a news release from the City said Monday.

ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 23 ਮਾਰਚ, 2020 ਨੂੰ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੋਵਿਡ -19 ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਸਿਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਰੀਲੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, “ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਇੱਕ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਕਸੀ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ, ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।”
