Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie says Canada is more determined than ever to support Ukraine as its war with Russia continues after 100 days.
In an interview with the Canadian Press, she said Canada would continue to provide arms and other assistance to Russia as it applied new rounds of sanctions.
“Our goal is to make sure that we put as much pressure on Putin’s regime as possible,” she said.
She said Canada was motivated by Ukraine’s strong defense and would continue to support the crisis-stricken country.
Jolly said Canada was also preparing to put 3,400 soldiers on standby for NATO.

ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਰੂਸ ‘ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਦੌਰ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ।
“ਸਾਡਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪੁਤਿਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ‘ਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦਬਾਅ ਪਾਈਏ,” ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਯੂਕਰੇਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ,ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸੰਕਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਿਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ।
ਜੌਲੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨਾਟੋ ਲਈ 3,400 ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਟੈਂਡਬਾਏ ‘ਤੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
