ਜ਼ੇਲੇਨਸਕੀ ਨੇ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰੂਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ, ਇੰਫਰਾਸਟ੍ਰਕਚਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਹਵਾਈ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਯੂਕਰੇਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ Tomahawk Missiles ਯੂਕਰੇਨ ਲਈ ਖੇਡ ਬਦਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ Extended-Range Attack Munition (ERAM) ਮਿਸਾਈਲ, ਜੋ Tomahawk Missiles ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਸਤੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਲੰਬੇ ਰੇਂਜ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ Patriot ਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਰੂਸ ਦੇ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਈ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਪੁਤਿਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ “ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ” ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਰੂਸੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਪੁਤਿਨ ਨੇ Tomahawk Missiles ਦੀ ਤੈਨਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ-ਰੂਸ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਅਸਰ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Ukraine pushes for powerful Tomahawk Missiles during Trump–Zelenskyy meeting, aiming to boost defense and strike deep into Russian military targets.
Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are scheduled to meet at the White House on Friday to discuss major defense deals and strategies to strengthen Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s invasion.
The meeting comes just a day after Trump’s phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the top of Ukraine’s wishlist: Tomahawk Missiles — advanced, long-range, high-precision cruise missiles capable of striking deep inside Russia, even reaching beyond Moscow.
Zelenskyy has emphasized Ukraine’s urgent need to strengthen air defenses as Russian forces continue aerial attacks on cities, energy infrastructure, and hospitals. The addition of Tomahawk Missiles could enhance Ukraine’s ability to strike key Russian military and oil facilities — weakening the financial backbone of Putin’s war machine.
Security expert John Hardie noted that no single weapon can decide the war, but Tomahawk Missiles would give Ukraine a strategic edge. He also highlighted the importance of economic sanctions and striking Russia’s oil infrastructure to weaken its war efforts.
The U.S. has also prepared to supply Extended-Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles — a more affordable long-range option — along with Patriot defense systems to counter missile and drone attacks.
Following his call with Putin, Trump said “great progress” was made, though he did not share specifics. Russian aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Putin opposed the deployment of Tomahawk Missiles near Russia’s borders, warning it could damage U.S.-Russia relations.
