City of Toronto fired 461 employees for not adhering to COVID-19 vaccination policy by deadline

Hundreds of City of Toronto employees have been dismissed for failing to fulfil the city’s vaccination deadline, either because they were not inoculated at all or because they failed to disclose their vaccination status on time.
The city released the data in a news release on Wednesday, claiming that over 98 percent of its active workforce (32,478 people) had been completely vaccinated. A total of 461 people have been fired.
The deadline to comply with the city’s vaccination policy was extended to midnight on Jan. 2 from the previous year’s deadline.
