Southern Ontario under severe thunderstorm warnings

Environment Canada had issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Hamilton, Waterloo, and Halton-Peel, among other regions, around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
Nine of Environment Canada’s 19 locations in Southern Ontario are under severe thunderstorm warnings, and all 19 are under a severe thunderstorm watch.
The alert adds, “Environmental Canada meteorologists are tracking a very severe thunderstorm capable of delivering destructive wind gusts, up to toonie-size hail, and heavy rain.”
“This is a risky and maybe fatal circumstance.”
Farnell tweeted at 12:20 p.m. Saturday that the storm was “running” toward the GTA at 90 km/h from London, Ont., and Kitchener. He predicted that the storm would hit Toronto at 2 p.m.
Social media footage from places already affected by the storm shows torrential rain and severe winds. Farnell stated that he had heard “many” stories of trees falling down in London.
Around 12:40 p.m., the Hydro One storm centre reported over 80 power outages in London, 20 near Brantford, Ont., and more than 30 near Woodstock, Ont.

“ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਗਿਆਨੀ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਤਰਨਾਕ ਗਰਜ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਝੱਖੜ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਗੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਤੱਕ,” ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 12:20 ਵਜੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ, ਫਾਰਨੇਲ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਲੰਡਨ, ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ, ਅਤੇ ਕਿਚਨਰ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਟੀਏ ਵੱਲ 90 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਘੰਟਾ ਦੀ ਰਫਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ “ਰੇਸਿੰਗ” ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 2 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਫੁਟੇਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਜ਼ ਮੀਂਹ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਫਾਰਨੇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰੱਖਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਦੀਆਂ “ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ” ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
