ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ “ਨੋ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਸਟ 2025” ਤਹਿਤ ਸੜਕਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਟਰੰਪ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਰਵੱਈਏ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਜੂਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੂਜਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਸਿਟੀ, ਵਾਸ਼ਿੰਗਟਨ ਡੀ.ਸੀ., ਲਾਸ ਏਂਜਲਸ, ਸ਼ਿਕਾਗੋ, ਬੋਸਟਨ, ਐਟਲਾਂਟਾ, ਹਿਊਸਟਨ, ਪੋਰਟਲੈਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਟਿਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਹੋਈ। ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ (NYPD) ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਬੋਰੋਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਾਕੇ 1 ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ।
ਪੋਰਟਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਮਲੇ ‘ਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ, ਜਦਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਿਨੋਇਸ ਰਾਜ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਗੋ ਨੇੜੇ ਇੱਕ ICE ਸੈਂਟਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ 15 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡੈਨਵਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਈਵੇ ‘ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ 2,500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ “ਨੋ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਸਟ” ਹੋਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਨ ਰਹੇ।
ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਟਰੰਪ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਸੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਗੈਵਿਨ ਨਿਊਸਮ ਨੇ X ‘ਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ, “ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਵਕ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਟਰੰਪ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।”
ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਬਰਨੀ ਸੈਂਡਰਜ਼, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਡੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਲਵ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਮੂਵਮੈਂਟ ਹੈ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਅਮਰੀਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ — ਹੁਣ ਹੋਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਗੇ।”
ਨੋ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਸਟ 2025 ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਉਭਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

No Kings Protest 2025: Massive Nationwide Rallies Against Trump Administration Amid U.S. Government Shutdown
Thousands of protesters across the United States took to the streets on Saturday for the second “No Kings” protest since June, rallying against what they describe as the Trump administration’s authoritarian leadership amid the ongoing U.S. government shutdown.
No Kings Protest 2025:
Major cities including New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Portland, and Austin saw massive turnouts, with police estimating more than 100,000 people in New York alone. The No Kings Protest 2025 movement spread even beyond borders, with solidarity marches also seen in London.
Despite earlier concerns from officials about potential violence, most No Kings protests remained peaceful. The NYPD confirmed there were no protest-related arrests in New York, while D.C. officials reported only minor disruptions as demonstrators briefly entered the streets.
In Portland, police detained three individuals following an alleged assault related to the protests, with one person formally arrested. Meanwhile, Illinois State Police arrested 15 people outside Chicago near an ICE facility, and Denver police made several arrests while preventing demonstrators from entering highways.
Overall, officials confirmed that more than 2,500 “No Kings” protests took place across the U.S. in a massive display of political dissent.
No Kings Protest 2025 : The protests carried a strong anti-Trump message, with demonstrators condemning what they view as the president’s growing control over democratic institutions.
California Governor Gavin Newsom posted on X, writing, “California will keep peacefully pushing back against the Trump Administration’s authoritarian takeover.”
Senator Bernie Sanders, speaking at the D.C. rally, called it “a Love America movement,” adding: “Thank you to the millions of Americans who stood up to say — No more kings. In America, we the people will rule.”
As the No Kings Protest 2025 continues to gain traction nationwide, the message remains clear — citizens are standing together to defend democracy during one of the most politically charged moments of the decade.
