First COVID-19 news conference in nearly a month to be held by Ontario’s top doctor

The number of Covid-19 infections in Ontario has skyrocketed in the past month as masks have been removed from the province.
As the province continues to struggle with Covid-19 infections and a surge in hospital admissions, Ontario’s chief medical officer will speak publicly for the first time in in a month.
Dr. Kieran Moore will speak at Queen’s Park at 1 p.m.
Since the end of March, test positivity in Ontario has continuously above 15%; a statistic that only includes lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases at a time when most people are unable to be tested.
On March 13, the health medical officer last took questions from the media. Moore stated at the time that if necessary, he would speak publicly again.
