A stolen cab collided with a parked police cruiser in Pickering, causing significant injuries to an officer, according to Durham Regional Police.
Shortly before 5 a.m. on Saturday, police received a complaint regarding a stolen taxi van from Whitby.
Police say the cab collided with a police vehicle parked on the side of Concession Road 9, near Sideline 12 in Pickering, about 20 minutes later.
At the time of the crash, an officer was inside the cruiser and suffered critical but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect also sustained critical but non-life threatening injuries and was flown to a Toronto hospital via Ornge air ambulance.
The cab was not being pursued at the time of the crash, according to police.
No charges have been filed, according to the police.

ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 5 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਟਬੀ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਟੈਕਸੀ ਵੈਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਲਗਭਗ ਵੀਹ ਮਿੰਟ ਬਾਅਦ ਟੈਕਸੀ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਰੂਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾ ਗਈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਿਕਰਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਈਡਲਾਈਨ 12 ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਕਨਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਰੋਡ 9 ਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਖੜੀ ਸੀ।
ਹਾਦਸੇ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਕਰੂਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਪਰ ਗੈਰ-ਜਾਨ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ।
ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਏਅਰ ਐਂਬੂਲੈਂਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਦੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਟੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਟੈਕਸੀ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
