Paused extracurricular activities in Lougheed MS will resume next week. I am pleased to announce that Lougheed staff have agreed to reconvene with extracurricular activities as of Monday, May 1, 2023. Due to recent circumstances, it was unfortunate that we had to take a pause. Students are expected to adhere to high standards of behavior during regular school hours and extracurricular activities, field trips, and tournaments, the acting principal Donna Bhamra says. All parents are also asked to talk to their children about the importance of treating others with kindness and respect and the consequences of bad behavior.
– ਤਨਖਾਹ `ਚ ਵਾਧੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ: The administration of the Peel District School Board has started reviewing the wages paid to the education assistants who work to help students with special needs. Currently, each education assistant working in Peel schools earns $22.22/hour, inclusive of vacation pay. This wage (half of the pay offered to a teacher) remained stagnant since 2009. Low wages are the main reason people are not applying to do this job and our schools are struggling to get help for the students who need it most.

Traditionally, the Canadian flag remains at half-mast on Parliament Hill and on all federal government buildings. Flags at Peel Region buildings re also lowered to half-mast, and a moment of silence was observed at 11 a.m. to remember those who are injured, ill, or have lost their lives at work.
