60 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਹੋਰ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਅਨ ਅੱਜ ਚੌਥੀ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਡੋਜ਼ ਬੁੱਕ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ

Ontarians aged 60 and up can begin scheduling appointments for a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccination as early as today.

Individuals from the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, as well as their non-Indigenous household members, aged 18 and above, are able to begin booking their immunizations today.

After the initial booster shot, the fourth dose is given at a recommended interval of five months.

Appointments can be made through the provincial vaccine site, public health units with their own scheduling systems, Indigenous-led immunisation clinics, and select pharmacies.

Long-term care and retirement home residents, as well as immunocompromised patients in Ontario, have already received the fourth dose.

A fourth dose, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott, adds an extra layer of protection against Omicron and the BA.

There are two options.

The implementation comes at a time when hospitalizations are on the rise.

It also comes as third-dose administration has slowed. Only 78 percent of persons aged 60-69 have gotten a booster dosage, despite the fact that 96% of those in this age group had received two doses.

ਫਸਟ ਨੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼, ਇਨੂਇਟ ,ਮੈਟਿਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ,18 ਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੈਰ-ਆਵਾਸੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵੀ ਅੱਜ ਬੁਕਿੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹਨ।

ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸੂਬਾਈ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਪੋਰਟਲ, ਵੱਖਰੀ ਬੁਕਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਨਤਕ ਸਿਹਤ ਯੂਨਿਟਾਂ, ਸਵਦੇਸ਼ੀ-ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਟੀਕਾਕਰਨ ਕਲੀਨਿਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਫਾਰਮੇਸੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੁਕਿੰਗ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਚੌਥੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਟਾਇਰਮੈਂਟ ਹੋਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਯੂਨੋਕੰਪਰੋਮਾਈਜ਼ਡ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਹੈ।

ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਟੀਨ ਇਲੀਅਟ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚੌਥੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ Omicron ਅਤੇ BA.2 ਵੇਰੀਐਂਟ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਧੂ ਪਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
