(Satpal Singh Johal) -Under its International Languages Program (ILP), PDSB’s senior administration is working on to offer weekly classes for Punjabi and Hindi in Louise Arbor Secondary School (in Brampton’s ward 9) from 2024-2025, next education year. ILP requires atleast, a total of 500 students to keep these courses viable. Castlebrooke, Sandalwood and Harold Brathwaite secondary schools are already offering ILP for the students. Weekly (free) classes (every Saturday) run each year from spetember to June.
Through the international languages program, students get opportunity to learn and develop reading, speaking and writing skills in 23 different international languages, including Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu. At secondary level, students can earn up to 3 credits for completion of an international languages course. New is coming (expected from next year) a PDSB certificate for elementary students who will attend and complete ILP courses.
